A Little About Me

In 2002 I met a Doula who told me about how she assisted women during their child's birth. I was very interested in how she supported the families and how it made a difference in their lives. I knew that this was a path that I wanted to explore. I began studying even though life took me in a different direction for several years.

For the birth of my first son in 2005 I had a Doula present. She supported both my husband and I with kindness and love. I decided to pursue this career more earnestly. So in 2007 I took training from CAPPA and started to attend births in 2008.

For me, the time that I spend with a family is a great privilege. Each birth is so unique and precious. I understand the value of having someone who is educated, and supportive with you to help attain an empowering birth experience. Mothering the mother is one of the most important jobs during a birth. I am so pleased to be able to be a mother to the mother.
